I was really impressed on the size of these. They are super big! This is an amazing set to have. They are well made and work very easily. First off the look is very classic, they look good sitting in your kitchen and will match any dishes or table setting. The bottoms are glass and the tops are brushed stainless steel. The insides are lined with black plastic and the gears themselves are made of ceramic The grinder works great a few twists and you're on your way to enjoying fresh ground seasoning. They are adjustable, but I did not need to adjust the grind. I love the glass bottoms, the coarse salt and peppercorns have a good look. The brushed stainless steel tops and grinder screw on are are all in one piece, with a nice lid for cleanliness. No dirt should settle on the top. The lids fit properly and have a rubber edge. Having the grinder at the top versus the bottom is a really good idea, no ground pepper or salt on your counter or in your cabinet.
